Innovation Project - LOST IN YOUTH

 

For the innovation project our decided to focus on the young homeless in the Aarhus area after reading an article in the the homeless newspaper "Husforbi".

 

We believe that it is important to make sure everything is alright locally before globally because it is more realistic.

 

My job was to figure out which marketing strategies would be most effective during the campaign "Lost in youth" which was our idea to launch in the local area only to maintain focus on the young homeless in the area.

 

During the process we had a lot of doubts of who the target group for the this campaign was but in the end we realized it should appeal to the young people who on the other side and have a home. They need to know that some of, maybe, their classmates are struggling.

The social media is therefore a key factor the marketing strategies.

 

Overall the project went very well. We made sure we had a clear group contact and good communication throughout the whole process. We even talked about launching the campaign in reality since we had made some connections in the "outside world".

 

Personalized Alphabet Font

 

In concept development we were asked to do an alphabet font which reflected the us self. I decided to make each letter with that thing you use to open a soda can which placed on top of them. However with each letter I will add something that tells something about. Something I can find in my room.

 

I thought it was a creative and different way of doing it and I like to do something a little outside the box instead of just painting on a canvas or doing something in photoshop. I like to get my hands busy and play around with things.

 

Throughout the process I started to think very creatively and realized that patient is the key when you want the money shot.

Also I figured out that I truly enjoy to work creatively with recycling material. I see uniqueness in things which people are ready to throw out. A true eye opening assignment.

 

Concept Development

- w/ MNLA

 

By providing up to date knowledge about how the industry works and functions relating to the visual part of branding, concept development gives us the tools needed for building up a brand from scratch by learning how to brainstorm, get ideas, visualize them and how to build a strong visual identity for the brand.

This course was very interesting. Throughout it I found out that I love working with recyclable material and have a desire to work creatively with it in the future. The skills I learned was to use different software to build visual brand identities and also methods of idea genrating as well as brainstorming in a completely different but good way. 

I believe that in the future will be benefitcial for me in order to improve group work, visual creation, etc. The world today has become a very visual place where people tend to look at pictures before reading the text so the skills of being able to create something eyecatching is a win situation for you as well as a company. 

 

Macro Economics

- w/ MONE

 

Studying Macro economics gives you a better understanding of the worlds financial matters.

During the course I was taught the basic of how our society functions in the financial aspect. This gives me a better understanding and knowledge when hearing about what's going on in the world and also understanding why and how the financial crisis in 2008 hit as well as understand how to get out of one these since there is a crisis within x amount of years interval. 

The skills is something I can use in my everyday life as well as in business affairs. By understanding the situation better I can advice and do the best thing for a company as well as for myself personally. I believe it is an excellent thing to understand in order to also understand a company's financel matters.

 

Business Economics

- w/ MONE

 

Business economics is very important because it's important to understand the money flow and how the economy works within a business. Also, with some basic knowledge in macro economics the understanding of business gets somewhat easier. In this subject we are taught how the money flow and calculations are in a business. 

The course did very basic stuff just like in macro economics but with it is 

 

Marketing Management

- w/ ERKS

 

Marketing Management provides us with knowledge of how to use different methodes and theories within the industry. WIth great focus on the value and the business model canvas it teaches us when to use which strategy in favor of the other and how to work within a companys different departments.

This course has taught me a lot about how to handle different markets and by using different theories and methods  how to start or expand a company into new markets. This is an important and central thing to learn for this specialty since it is called branding and marketing management. One things is to create a brand but there is a game plan behind a great brand and that is the marketing. I value the skilles I have learned here and see myself using the knowledge and skills in the future but also in different classes as well as internship. 

 

Branding Strategy

- w/ GIVL

 

Through branding strategy we are provided with tools which teaches us how to analyze and development a brand or even improve branding. We are also taught how to use certain models, theories and concepts which we apply in some real life case work.

During this course I was taught how to use different models in order to understand different brands better as well as build up a new brand using the different theories and methods. I find it very usefull and unintentionally I use it everyday now when I see a brand. When I do see a brand I start thinking of why the logo is what it is, what is the target group, what is their main product, why are they here etc. I also start thinking of their strategy and how to improve it. Therefore I do believe I have learned a lot doing this course but maybe also been damaged a bit.
